YOUSSOU NDOUR releases a song I co-wrote!!!!

Youssou NDour and Les Super Etoiles de Dakar have been my all time, hands-down favorite band for nearly 20 years. And last Tuesday, April 10th, 2007, Youssou released his CD "Alsaama day" in Senegal with a song called "Boul Bayekou" that I co-wrote as the first track! What an honor!!!

Jason Hann and I wrote a song together in 2004 after Jason had come up with an incredible mbalax groove. It was intended for my 4th CD, but when Jimi MBaye guested on the record, Mbacke Dioum heard it and suggested I submit it to Youssou. Youssou then said he wanted to use it and the rest is history! Looking forward to seeing it on the international release!

Youssou's version is insanely great ... he has translated my lyrics into Wolof, mixed in some brilliant sabar "baks," and created a beautiful outro as an ending. The first time I heard his wonderful voice singing my melody, I felt like I was flying! So brilliant! Big Gratitude to one and all!
